Bachelor's (Hons) Full-Time Screenwriting
University of Chichester - Bognor Regis

September 2019 to May 2022

I've recently handed in my dissertation to achieve my Bachelor's (Hons) degree from the University of Chichester for Full-Time Screenwriting. It's one of only 3 universities in the UK at the time of writing with this focused Screenwriting course, and included writing a Feature Film, TV Bible and 30 Minute Drama Script, Two Short Films, and many more excerpts of scripts.

Click the image to get an idea of the course I was working on! (The one I was working on was more intensive before, believe me. We had to do the Short Film Module and TV Drama in the same semester. Online... during the pandemic. Got As for both, smug boy I am.)

NC in Music

Perth College - Perth, Scotland

August 2013 to July 2014

I learned basic music theory at NC level learning songwriting structure and composed two original songs, as well as learned second study of Singing and Drums.

Above is a link to my Bandcamp for my personal songwriting page. More than just a shameless plug, but evidencing of my ability to write lyrics and music (at least, I hope so).

I've been working with a producer to make a follow-up Debut Album, which as of May has all songs finished to mixing, and should be on the page soon enough.

Dungeon Master for D&D (Free Time)

October 2019 - June 2020

For fun, I created a Homebrew Dungeons and Dragons campaign for friends at uni, which I ran as DM for about a year, in person and online. Though we didn't manage a session a week (who does, right?) I managed to give them a nice ending before Covid forced a lockdown and we couldn't play in person and Uni work overtook our free time. I loved making it, writing and playing lots of different characters and places, as well as backstories to them all (well, when I didn't improvise).

The above is an image I commissioned for my players of the party, just to give you an example of the chaos I had to deal with...

Director - 'Office' Scene

(University of Chichester - 2nd Year Module)

In a week's intensive module, we Screenwriters could email and ask to join in to work as crew or potentially direct a 1 Minute Scene. Out of some 60 students, and of those to propose themselves for Directing my scene, 4 students (a little less impressive sounding), my shot list idea and vision was selected, and this is the result of my Direction.

He is a footballer who has just been told he's sidelined, and she is the coach who did it. He bursts into the scene angry, and won't leave until he's said his piece.

I was told I got the Directing role for my mentioning of seeing the energy in the given script and comparing the back and forth of dialogue to Aaron Sorkin. We had 1 hour to shoot the scene, and one day to edit it. We showed it to the class the following day.

CV: Music Player

October 2021 - May 2022

I arranged social nights and writing tasks to help younger writers, musicians, poets, and story writers practice their skills and learn writing techniques and practices to help the writing process.

This included giving new musicians the confidence to write their own songs, to play live, and creating poems and songs within the hour of socials we had as exercises, as well as running the university socials and open mic nights when the President couldn't be there.

October 2021 - May 2022

R.P.G. (Role-Playing Games) Society

 -

Secretary

I was also Secretary of the R.P.G. Society, which is where I first DM'ed Dungeons and Dragons and introduced new players to the rules of various board and card games, like Betrayal at House on the Hill, Sheriff of Nottingham, and the infamous Mau- which is interesting, because if you ask, Mau doesn't have any rules. Sort of a paradox, really.
